Fuse Selection: Rated Current
Date: | Read: 22
When a transformer is in operation, in the event of a short circuit or fault current, the drop out fuse fuse must act quickly and disconnect the circuit. Setting the fuse rating to 1.5–2 times the transformer's rated current helps prevent accidental melting during normal operation and provides sufficient breaking capacity during faults. For transformers with a capacity of 100kVA and above, the high-voltage side fuse is generally selected at 1.5–2 times the high-voltage current value.
