Why Do Cold-shrink Cable Accessories Often Have A Very Long Service Life?

The Cold Shrink Cable Accessories uses high-elasticity silicone rubber or EPDM elastomer. These materials possess natural elastic memory and excellent resistance to aging, UV radiation, ozone, and temperature cycling. It is pre-injected and vulcanized in the factory, then expanded in diameter before being packaged in a removable plastic spiral support. During installation, simply pull out the support; the elastomer shrinks back at room temperature and tightly wraps around the cable, forming a stable fit.

This shrinkage and wrapping method synchronizes with the cable's thermal expansion and contraction due to temperature or load changes, achieving "coordinated breathing"—the accessory expands and contracts with the cable, preventing gaps or loosening due to temperature differences, vibration, or slight mechanical pulling.
