The short-circuit protection performance of drop out fuse is excellent. It is widely used in high and low voltage power distribution systems, control systems, and electrical equipment as a short-circuit and overcurrent protector, making it one of the most common and important protective devices. Attention should be paid to the precautions for using fuses, as well as routine inspection and maintenance.

I. Precautions for using fuses:
1. The protection characteristics of the fuse should be compatible with the overload characteristics of the protected object.  Considering the possible short-circuit current, select a fuse with the appropriate breaking capacity;
2. The rated voltage of the fuse must match the line voltage level, and the rated current of the fuse must be greater than or equal to the rated current of the fuse element;
3. The rated currents of the fuse elements in each stage of the circuit must be appropriately matched, ensuring that the rated current of the upstream fuse element is greater than the rated current of the downstream fuse element;
4. The fuse element must be used according to the requirements, and it is not allowed to arbitrarily increase the fuse element or replace it with other conductors.
II. Fuse inspection:
1. Check whether the rated values ​​of the fuse and fuse element match the protected equipment;
2. Check whether the fuse has any damage or deformation, and whether there are any flashover discharge traces on the porcelain insulation;
3. Check whether all contact points of the fuse are intact, the contact is tight, and there is no overheating;
4. Check whether the fuse blown indicator is working properly.
