Pure silver is used as a contact, and the conductivity is indeed good, but pure silver is relatively soft and easy to oxidize. If it oxidizes and rusts, the conductivity will be much worse, and the rust points are easy to heat up, which may burn the contacts when carrying large currents.
Silver-nickel alloy has better conductivity and hardness, and silver-cadmium alloy contacts are better in other aspects, but cadmium is a heavy metal. On the one hand, it is harmful to the human body. On the other hand, the fusion with silver is not ideal, and small cadmium metal particles will form on the surface of the contact, which may draw an arc when conducting electricity.
