Excellent Heat Resistance Of Cold Shrink Cable Accessories

Cold Shrink Cable Accessories typically uses highly elastic silicone rubber or ethylene propylene rubber, and is pre-expanded in the factory before being assembled to the cable end. During installation, only the internal support core rope needs to be removed; the rubber material will automatically shrink and adhere tightly to the cable insulation layer. This results in a dense structure and consistently stable bonding.

Cold-shrink accessories made with high-quality silicone rubber exhibit significantly better temperature resistance than ordinary plastic sheaths. The high Si–O bond energy in the silicone rubber molecular structure makes it more resistant to high temperatures and ultraviolet radiation, less prone to decomposition or performance degradation.

Unlike cable accessories that rely on heat-shrink processes, cold-shrink cable accessories do not require heating during installation and operation. This means the material does not undergo repeated cycles of thermal expansion and contraction, reducing the risk of thermal fatigue. This structure and process reduce aging caused by thermal stress changes. Combined with the inherent heat resistance, aging resistance, and UV radiation resistance of silicone rubber, it maintains structural integrity and functional stability even in high-temperature environments.
