Cold Shrink Cable Accessory Installation Guide
Cold Shrink Cable Accessories Follow the manufacturer's installation manual to pre-assemble connectors or terminals. At the construction site, a general electrician with basic electrical skills can perform the entire installation process.
Required steps include stripping the cable outer sheath, steel tape, and inner sheath; cleaning the conductor surface; and preparing the cable end to the specified stripping length. Next, slide the pre-expanded cold-shrink sleeve onto the cable end. Upon pulling the inner core rope, the sleeve rapidly contracts under elastic force, tightly enveloping the cable. This process requires no open flame or specialized heating tools.
The installation procedure must strictly adhere to national/industry standards, such as the industry specification “Installation Procedures for Cold-Shrink Cable Accessories Rated at 35kV (Um=40.5kV) and Below.” The work site must be clean and tidy, with compliant environmental conditions. Avoid operation in damp, contaminated, or hot work zones.
