Why Can't The Neutral Wire And Protective Ground Wire In A Wall Switch Be Combined?
Date: | Read: 0
Because the neutral wire is the path for the return current, while the protective grounding wire only guides the leakage current to the ground under fault conditions, the two are clearly distinct in function. If the neutral wire and the protective grounding wire in Wall Switch are used together, when the neutral wire is broken or the contact resistance is abnormal, the fault current that should have been conducted through the protective grounding may be diverted to the neutral wire, thereby making the metal casing or switch panel live and posing a risk of electric shock.
