What Are The Differences Between Surface-mounted Switches And Sockets And Concealed Switches And Sockets?
Switches and sockets are classified into two categories according to installation: open-mounted Wall Switch and concealed-mounted switches and sockets. This is mainly due to their different installation methods and construction practices. What are the differences between open-mounted switches and sockets and concealed switches and sockets?
1. Different installation methods
The open-mounted series is to lay open wires, and the bottom box is exposed outside the wall. After installation, it is about 3cm higher than the wall. If there is a problem with the circuit, it is more convenient to repair. The installation speed is fast and the price is relatively affordable. The biggest disadvantage is that it is not beautiful.
The concealed series is to groove the wall, lay the pipe wire, and the bottom box is embedded in the wall. After the panel is installed, only one panel is protruding on the wall surface. The effect looks more beautiful, and it is also convenient to put furniture and other things. It will not affect the appearance because the wires are outside. It should be noted that for concealed installation, you should draw the wiring diagram of the wires in advance to prevent the wires from being hit during maintenance or when drilling holes in the wall or installing other things, causing a short circuit in the circuit.
2. Different construction methods
Exposure series: The exposed switch is connected to the base box, and you can directly buy cement nails (installed on the cement wall) or self-tapping screws (on the wood board)
Concealed series: You need to buy the concealed base box first and bury it in the wall. After the house is installed, the switch is installed in two steps.
Simply put, concealed switches and sockets look better, and exposed switches are more convenient. If we are decorating our home, it is recommended that concealed installation is better.
