Troubleshooting Methods For Wall Switches And Sockets That Are Not Receiving Power.

Wall Switch (referring to wall switches and sockets) are ubiquitous in daily life, and they are all concealed installations. So, what should we do if we encounter a situation where there is no power?

The following are methods for troubleshooting wall switches and sockets that are not receiving power:

1. Check if the neutral wire connection is short-circuited. First, remove the socket panel and check if there are any problems with the connections. You can run a neutral wire from a normally functioning socket to the faulty socket. If it then works normally, it means the original neutral wire is broken.  The original wire should be removed, and a professional electrician should be hired to rewire it.

2. When testing with a voltage tester, if the light illuminates, it indicates that the live wire is powered, proving that the neutral wire is broken, which is causing the socket to have no power.

3. Check if the positive and negative contact points have good elasticity. When plugging in a plug, check if there is any abnormality in the contact between the socket's spring contacts and the plug.

4. If the live wire has power but the socket is not working normally, you also need to check if the neutral wire is broken (missing neutral).
