The Role Of The Isolating Switch

Date: | Read: 42

High Voltage Disconnect Switch: When inspecting and repairing electrical equipment, isolate the electrical equipment under repair from the live power supply to form a disconnection point to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Switching lines or busbars: Use isolating switches to switch electrical equipment or lines from one set of busbars to another set of busbars. Closing and disconnecting low-current circuits: Closing and disconnecting voltage transformers, lightning arrester circuits; capacitor currents; no-load power lines; no-load transformers, etc.  12kV isolating switches are allowed to close and disconnect no-load overhead lines of less than 5km; 40.5kV isolating switches are allowed to close and disconnect no-load overhead lines of less than 10km and no-load transformers of less than 1000kVA; 126kV isolating switches are allowed to close and disconnect no-load transformers of less than 320kVA
