The Key Role Of Drop-out Fuses In Power Systems

Date: | Read: 0

As an important overload and short-circuit protection device in the power system, the drop out fuse device plays an indispensable role on the high-voltage side of the power transmission and distribution network. Under normal operating conditions, the fuse tube is in the tensioned closed position. When an overload or short-circuit fault occurs in the system, the fault current causes the fuse to melt rapidly. The fuse tube automatically "falls" to the open state by its own gravity and the breaking mechanism, thereby achieving circuit isolation and protection.
