During the operation of connecting and disconnecting, insulated tools of appropriate voltage level and which have passed testing should be selected, and insulated shoes, insulated gloves, safety helmets, and other protective equipment should be provided to ensure the safety of the operating environment. Connecting and disconnecting operations must not be performed under load. If accidental connection under load is discovered, operation should be stopped immediately and handled according to procedures; do not attempt to connect or disconnect again.
