High Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breaker originated in the last century, that is, the end of the 19th century. Its concept was first proposed by an American. Because this design provided a concept and idea to the United States at that time, this concept was highly valued by inventors at that time. Twenty years later, Foga Company in Sweden invented a conceptual "vacuum switch" with this design concept. Six years later, the company announced to the public that this product could indeed achieve the possibility of vacuum circuit breaking. However, even if it had the function of breaking, this product could not be produced under the conditions at that time, because the breaking possibility measured at that time was relatively small, and it was limited by the vacuum technical conditions and the unknown selection of materials at that time. Therefore, the vacuum circuit breaker was only a concept at that time and could not be put into production for use. Due to the impact of World War I and World War II, the development and research of vacuum circuit breakers had to be buffered. Finally, after the end of the World War, in the 1950s, the United States began to produce a batch of switches that could cut off the function of capacitor banks. Although its breaking current function was only 4,000 amps, it was already very difficult given the technological level at the time. Later, due to major breakthroughs in the metallurgy of vacuum materials and the research on the structure of vacuum switch contacts, after 10 years of unremitting efforts, scientists finally developed a vacuum circuit breaker that can produce 15 kV high voltage and a breaking current of 12.5 kA. In less than 5 years, they successfully developed a 15 kV, 26 kA and 31.5 kA vacuum circuit breaker. Since then, vacuum circuit breakers have officially entered the high-voltage, large-capacity power system. It is precisely because of this excellent function and its circuit-breaking function that high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers have truly made a name for themselves in the world. By the 1980s, the function of vacuum circuit breakers had been upgraded to 100 kiloamperes.
