Usually when we use lamps, we only need a Wall Switch to control it. We can choose a single-control switch, but sometimes for convenience, such as horizontal lamps or staircase lamps. We want to be able to turn it on in the horizontal door frame and turn it off with a switch at the head of the bed. There is also the staircase lamp, which we want to turn on when going upstairs and turn it off upstairs. To achieve this effect, we need to use a double-control switch. To put it bluntly, a single-control switch controls one lamp, and a double-control switch means that both switches can control the same lamp. The double-control switch can replace the use of a single-control switch, but a single-control switch cannot replace a double-control switch.

Single-control switch, there are only two contacts at the back, one live wire and one neutral wire, and there are signs at the back. L represents the live wire and N represents the neutral wire. When wiring, just decompose the live wire and the neutral wire and connect them to the corresponding positions.

The difference between single-control switch and double-control switch installation method

The single-open double-control switch has three contacts at the back, namely L, L1, and L2. When wiring, first connect L1 and L2 with wires, connect the live wire to the L contact of a double-control switch, and connect the neutral wire to the L contact of another double-control switch.
