Application Of Pre-expansion Technology Of Elastomer Materials In Cold Shrink Cable Accessories

During the production process, liquid silicone rubber material is first injected and vulcanized in a mold to form a tubular structure with high elasticity and excellent insulation properties. Subsequently, the manufacturing equipment mechanically expands the diameter of the formed tube, increasing its inner diameter to several times the diameter of the cable itself. A plastic spiral core is embedded inside the expanded tube; this support structure allows the cold-shrink cable accessory to maintain its expanded shape for a long time, facilitating transportation and on-site installation.

On-site installation personnel attach the pre-expanded Cold Shrink Cable Accessories set to the pre-treated cable end and then pull out the internal plastic spiral support strip counterclockwise. The unsupported tube, relying on the material's elastic memory properties, quickly contracts inward and fits tightly against the cable surface. This installation method, relying on elastic recoil force, allows the cold-shrink cable accessory to be installed without heating tools or other auxiliary equipment, through simple manual operation.
