Analysis Of The Potential Fire Or Explosion Hazards Caused By Wall Switches
Dust, powder buildup, or flammable debris near the Wall Switch panel increases the risk. Dust entering the switchgear or switch box alters electrical contact, increasing the probability of short circuits and sparks. Prolonged short circuits and arcing can generate extremely high temperatures near the switch, potentially causing a fire or explosion.
Aging wiring and improper installation are also significant contributing factors. During power distribution, loose connections or damaged insulation at the wall switch's connection to the power line can easily lead to localized overheating when current flows. Failure to inspect or adjust over a long period can cause internal insulation material to degrade, leading to thermal breakdown.
