In 2005, Xuzhou Power Grid suffered two porcelain bottle breakage accidents, one of which occurred during daily operation and the other during construction wiring. The breakage locations were concentrated at the connection between the porcelain bottle and the flange. This type of failure is not only closely related to the product quality of the porcelain bottle itself, but also involves the overall structure of High Voltage Disconnect Switch and the operating methods of the operators. During the firing process of the porcelain bottle, if the control is not proper, it may cause the porcelain parts to be raw, the density to be uneven, or the cement glue to have problems. In addition, due to the lax quality inspection process, some poor quality porcelain bottles may be mistakenly installed as qualified products, thus posing a potential threat to the safety of the power grid. At the same time, improper operation methods or excessive force of operators when opening and closing high-voltage disconnectors may also cause damage to the porcelain bottles. In addition, it is worth noting that in 2005 and 2004, there were also cracking problems in the porcelain bottles supporting 8 500kV SOPLT knife switches.
